Drone element at 46th Tomato Day in Chatham
2022-3-14
It’s a great honour to participate in the 46th annual tomato day in Chatham, ON.
Red Gold Farm shared that “When Dad says its too muddy to go to the fields…”
We all want to succeed, we don’t want to fail, we all want to hurry, we don’t want loss. To judge whether an agricultural tool is useful or not, it is to see if it can bring us value and solve problems.
We shared the drone technology, many people think, what can such a small tank do? It’s not enough for me to spray a few feet of the field.
How are agriculture drones helping our large size farmland?
Actually, the drone is not designed for large-scale farming purposes. It is an additional tool to the toolbox. It uses only 10% around mixture while saving 30-50% of chemicals, the application of multispectral drones the variable-rate help you only sprays the problem areas and saves another 20~30%, save 80~90% of water, and no annual fee for RTK equipment.
The work efficiency is about 40 acres/hour at a 5L/acre rate for the Agras T30, if you apply 7-9L/acre, it will slow down the total work efficiency. The battery is using premium material, rechargeable, no need to cool down, you can charge directly, every T30 equipped with 3 batteries so that you can continue to work.
It’s good to use for irregular terrain and wetland, the spray width can be adjusted from 4M-9M from the remote controller.
Is a battery-operated agriculture drone an option?
As fuel prices rise, so does the cost of agriculture. If we want to reduce the input cost of agriculture and increase the profit of crops, we must consider all aspects. The high-efficiency drone battery can be repeatedly charged and used, which can help reduce the use of diesel by 60~70% for the same acres of operation.
How did we get this number out:
The 2 in 1 spraying and spreading drone, Agras T30’s new smart battery guarantees 1,000 internal cycles, operates up to 5,000 acres( fuel consumption is: 0.6L fuel/battery/5acres x 1000 internal cycles=600L), that means you use 600L fuel can operate up to 5,000 acres.
10-12 minutes to complete the ultra-fast charging, only 3 sets of smart batteries and a charger can be used for uninterrupted operation.
Reference fuel consumption: 0.6 L/each T30 smart battery
*Charge from 30% to 95%*

Drone tech is also helping to minimize soil disturbance, targets precisely, increases work efficiency, and ensures people’s health.
We cooperate with Corteva Agriscience in 2021 by using DJI Agras T20 to test fungicide Acapela on their soybean field for white mold prevention. Corteva stated that The good news from the drone operation is that there is a clear plant health effect of the spray.

All of these need strict tests in the laboratories and in the field as well. DJI agriculture drone due to its cutting edge knowledge and safety performance has been widely recognized by farmers around the world as a qualified and responsible drone manufacturing company.
Bayer in the US also tested soybeans and corn last year, confirming the effectiveness of around 10% mixture for the same yield as ground equipment. Watch their video Applying fungicide with UAVs, click here.
A grower shares what he has to say about Bayer’s spraying drone test field “They were super impressed with spray coverage and the most healthy and uniform field they saw all year. I find it hard to think 2 GPA will do the same as me soaking corn plant from tassel to just below cob, that is 5-6’ of soaking”
For example, some places are relatively wet after rain/snowmelt, and large-scale equipment cannot enter. At the same time, there are often places, edges, corners that cannot be sprayed, which are also the places that outbreak of pests and diseases that spread to the interior field. The sprayer drone is a just-right tool to help with these concerns.
EU plans to reduce pesticides by 50%. Hungary tested weeding by using DJI Agras drones with P4M together last season which proves to save nearly 70% of chemicals.

Chile also tech Biosmart by using DJI Agras drones on the sweet cherry trees, which shows that instead of 800L-1200L of water, it only uses 30L/Ha.
Before DJI releases the agriculture drone to the market, they have undergone rigorous coverage testing and particle size testing.

They are not only testing the front of the leaves’ uniform coverage but also the back of the leaves, as they stated that the back of the leaves are the places where the bugs are hidden. The drone needs to be able to spray the back of the leaves to kill those bugs.
How to achieve a closed-loop precision agriculture solution?
When we do farm work, we want accurate forecasts to deal with pests and diseases.
DJI drones operate in the same platform which greatly reduces your downloading time and generates variable rate map time from 4-5 hours to 15-20 minutes, which greatly reduced the risk on yield.
DJI P4M multispectral drone is an integrated device that can be easily brought to the farmland to monitor the chlorophyll index of crops from time to time.
Agronomists can help farmers make timely judgments and treatment on the field conditions based on the specific problems of the field designated by the images, thereby avoiding losses and increasing yields.
Spring is here, do you have the drone ready to take care of your 2022 season?
And also, many places are starting to use the DJI P4M multispectral drone to scout some winter wheat fields now. Agronomists instruct farmers in variable spreading operations based on crop growth. Save time and cost.
Welcome to give us a call and we would be glad to help your farm select the right agriculture drones, or you are welcome to make an appointment to try ag drone services.
