How to check/inspect your DJI Agras drones
After long-term and high-intensity operations, some parts of agricultural drones may experience aging and damage, which will affect the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and even bring security risks.
It is recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the plant protection drone for about one month of high-intensity operation to ensure the stability and reliability of the plant protection drone.
1. Inspection of the sprinkler system
-
Remove the water tank and observe whether the sealing ring is greatly deformed or the sealing surface is damaged. If so, please replace it immediately, otherwise, it will cause failures such as air intake.
-
Remove the screw cap at the bottom of the water tank, remove the filter screen and the corresponding sealing ring, check whether the filter screen is blocked, and clean the filter screen.
Liquid box filter and rubber gasket
-
Check the two-level gauges inside the tank, clean with clean water, and check for corrosion.
-
Check whether the pipe joints of the spraying system (water tank, water pump, flow meter, etc.) are loose or not and whether the pipes are broken.
-
Observe whether the pressure relief valve sees water. If there is a problem, replace the sealing gaskets in two places in time.
-
Check the atomization of the nozzle. If the atomization is poor, clean it thoroughly or replace it with a new nozzle.
Nozzle normal spray
2. Maintenance and inspection of power system
a) propeller
Clean the propeller with a well-wrung, damp cloth, grasp the end of the blade, lift the blade down or up, and inspect the edge of the propeller for cracks.
-
Check whether the propeller gasket is worn. If the wear is serious, please replace it with a new propeller gasket in time.
-
Rotate the propeller to check if the propeller clamp is loose. If it is loose, use an M4 screwdriver to tighten the blade fixing screw.
b) Motor
-
Rotate the rotor of the motor and check whether the motor is stuck or locked.
-
Pull the motor rotor slightly vertically upwards to check for looseness of the motor rotor.
-
Shake the motor horizontally from side to side to check whether the connection between the motor and the motor base and the machine arm is firm. It is recommended to remove the black motor protective cover, check whether the two screws fixing the motor base are loose and whether the limit module between the motor base and the machine arm is worn.
3. Maintenance and inspection of the fuselage
-
Check whether the arm is cracked or deformed, unfold the arm, and check whether the threads of the sleeve and the locking position are worn.
-
Check whether the RTK antenna and SDR antenna are fastened and whether the RTK module above the machine head is loose.
-
Check the air filter cover in front of the upper cover of the aircraft and clean it in time.
-
Check whether the tripod and the fuselage frame are loose.
-
Check whether the radar casing is damaged and whether the radar bracket is firmly installed.
4. Remote control maintenance and inspection
-
Remote control suspension: The remote control can be hung under the aircraft, but it is necessary to ensure that the aircraft does not penetrate liquid, so as to avoid liquid infiltration into the remote control and cause damage.
-
Remote control cleaning: The remote control needs to be wiped regularly to avoid the accumulation of dust, etc., to ensure a clean appearance of the remote control.
-
Remote control antenna: When the remote control is not in use, the remote control antenna needs to be folded and stored to avoid breaking the antenna.
-
Remote control external battery: Check whether there is mixed liquid and dust at the interface between the remote control external battery and the remote control. If so, please clean it up in time. When the external battery of the remote control is stored, it needs to be stored in two cells. It is forbidden to store it with full or low power.
Remote control key inspection and cleaning parts
5. Battery Check
-
Check whether the appearance of the battery is normal. If the casing is damaged, deformed, or leaks, please contact our after-sales service and do not use it again.
-
Check the metal reeds of the battery and battery holder. If there is a little blackening, wipe it with alcohol in time. If it is black in a large area, please replace it in time. The battery is not waterproof, so do not wash it directly with water or soak it in water.
Batteries and Battery Holders
-
When working, the operator should return to the drone in time for charging when the battery has 30% remaining power.
-
If you continue to use it and over-discharge many times, it will seriously affect the battery life.
6. Inspection of the spreading system
Check whether the connection between the tank and the spreader is loose if there is a lock key for the replacement box.
Separate the tank from the spreader, check the parts of the spreader, use a soft brush to clean the surface attachments, and do not rinse directly with clean water.
Detach the spreader plate and check the plate. If there is obvious wear and tear, please replace the spreading disc in time.
Comparison of old and new spreading plate
The spreading system is factory calibrated and ready for immediate use. If the following conditions occur during use, the user needs to calibrate by himself:
-
The door does not fully open or close;
-
The blanking rate deviates from the expected value;
-
App false alarm and no material alarm.
Calibration steps: Enter the App operation interface – setting options – seeding system, click calibration in the seeding system settings, and then wait for the calibration to complete. If the calibration fails, please try again.
Agricultural drones with battery storage
1. Agricultural drone storage
-
Agricultural drones should be stored indoors in a ventilated, dry and protected place from direct sunlight. The temperature in the storage room is within the range of 18-25°C, not higher than 30°C. Do not place agricultural drones in dark, damp corners or store them in the open air.
-
In addition, it is necessary to ensure that the storage environment is free from pests and rodents, and it cannot be stacked with highly corrosive items such as fertilizers and pesticides, so as to prevent the plant protection drone from being rusted and damaged.
2. Battery Storage
-
If the battery prompts low power after the operation, it needs to be charged until the battery indicator is two to two and a half bars and stored, otherwise the battery may be damaged if stored for a long time.
-
The storage environment of lithium batteries should be kept dry. Do not place the battery in water or where it may leak, and do not place the battery near heat sources, such as in direct sunlight or in a car on a hot day, a fire, or a heating stove.
-
If the battery is to be stored for a long time (more than 3 months), store the battery in a dry and ventilated place, away from heat sources, in a special explosion-proof cabinet. And recharge and discharge every 3 months or so to keep the battery active. Storing the battery in sub-zero temperatures can result in impaired battery performance.
